DIWALI DECORATION

DIWALI- THE FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS

Diwali, the festival of lights, is the festival for which everyone waits eagerly. It is a very significant festival for the people of India and across the world. Everyone becomes very happy on the occasion of this festival and celebrates with lots of preparations. Diwali is a five days long festival that starts from Dhanteras and ends at Bhai dooj.

Personally, Diwali is one of my favorite occasions when it is the period to forget every quandary and to celebrate. Diwali has been celebrated since Lord Ram returned to his place, Ayodhya. Presently, people start cleaning their houses a few days before Diwali such as whitewashing, dusting, painting, etc. Houses get decorated using real or artificial flowers and other decorative materials. My school and classroom were exquisitely decorated. Students became an enthusiast and brought various materials to illuminate the class as best as they could. Getting impressed by our work, vice-principal esteemed our class. The school was refurbished by the art and craft department. It was like decorating one's house. 

Being the carnival of lights, Diwali is celebrated by bursting crackers. This is one of the mistakes done by humankind. Exploding crackers creates bulky air pollution which in turn affects our lungs. The extensive use of crackers has been deteriorating our health for a long time. Now, it is time to understand that one should avoid the use of crackers and celebrate eco-friendly Diwali. It would be difficult for one or two years to resist. 

So, this time let's celebrate a very safe and eco-friendly Diwali!

Saturdays are always fun for the kids of DPS-Bopal because get to explore their creativity by various means! Children participated with full zeal and enthusiasm as they doled out nutritious yet delectable delicacies. The students were aware about the ingredients that were to be brought, for the items to be prepared. Students participated in full swing by preparing lip smacking dishes like Vegetable salad and Sandwiches. The event not only provided a platform for the students to foster their creativity and decision-making skills but also helped them explore their hidden talents. Overall the students enjoyed this experience as it was exciting for them to do something different in the classroom.

Swaraj Chhabra as a Prefect!!

We congratulate Swaraj Chhabra for getting selected as a Prefect of class VIII. He will be working as this office bearer post for the AY 2019-20 as a part of Ganga House student. Swaraj has been excellent student in his academics as well as in extra curricular activities.

Class VIII-D

So here we are! Standing at the end of the year! Summing up the memories we had with our teachers and with our friends! We are all set to face new challenges, to make new friends, to have new teachers and to learn new lessons in our life! All we can say is that we are really going to miss the time we spent with each other and with our teachers, we are moving ahead with lot of experiences... We are wishing the best for the new students! Yali Ho!

Saturday School!!

Working Saturdays are always fulfilled because kids are engaged with some or the other activities or games. Kids at DPS Bopal are always provided with various platforms to showcase their talents. Shown in the pictures are group of enthusiasts preparing coconut laddus and other sweets with their partners.

Navaratri

Navaratri, which means nine nights, is a traditional Hindu festival which has been celebrated since centuries throughout India and foreign countries as well. Navaratri honours the great Goddess Durga. It begins on the first new moon in early autumn and culminates on the tenth lunar day with the celebration of Dussehra or Vijayadashami.

The tradition of Navaratri is about Devi Mahatmya, an Indian script from the Markandeya Purana. In this text, Goddess Durga, who encompasses all nine forms of Devi, spent nine days in battle with demon Mahishasura. The goddess Durga defeated the demon on the tenth day, in a conquest of light over darkness.

People worship the eternal power by fasting for nine days and by moving around the goddess by creating energy circle, traditionally known as Garba. The divine has their own language; you have to be silent to understand it! Though godly and evil powers are within, but power of the divine destroys the evil...

Sports Update: Table Tennis...

Anuj Joshi participated in Khel Maha Kumbh Table Tennis tournament held at Khokhra Sports Complex, Khokhra on 25th September  2018 and become champion in U-14 Boy’s category. We are proud to share that he is selected for state level. Congratulations to our champion!! Way to go...!!
